It doesnt do much immediately, but it sets up an explosive follow-up, allowing you to storm again or refill your hand

Then put all cards revealed this way that werent put onto the battlefield into your graveyard

Pithing Needle only costs one mana, letting you get it down on the battlefield as early as the first turn so your opponent never has a chance to use the card you named

Getting a good card for less ink is always a winning outcome but Little John, Resourceful Outlaw has even more tricks up its sleeve
